Who Doesn't Read Fiction? or Day 13

  • 4 Diary of a Wimpy Kid books
  • The Homework Machine
  • Return of the Homework Machine
  • whatever he chose last night - I'll find out when he wakes up
George has turned into a fiction machine, cranking through a book a night! This is an expensive habit, so yesterday The MacTavish School took a field trip to the Reynolda branch library. We took out 9 books, and George wanted all of them on his bedside table last night. I think Benjamin Franklinstein may have beat out the others for first read, but they all looked like strong contenders.

In math he is breezing through greater than/less than/equal to and ordering sets, due in large part to his affinity for Pacman. (Wokka-wokka-wokka, Pacman always eats the greater number.)

Dot update: I fed her sugar water via syringe and waited for her to expire in my hand. Instead, she seemed to perk up a bit. She's still with us.

nonfiction read & react: Talk by Titanic steward's grandson
math unit: Lesson 2, Chapter 2, Houghton Mifflin Math North Carolina, Grade 4
daily poem: free reading in Where the Sidewalk Ends

There's a Return of the Homework Machine? Oh man, I may have to check that out - the original was a favorite of mine.

Yay for a new fiction reader!
