George's opinion piece

Yesterday I saw “The Wizard of Oz”. It was great, classic and it had awesome characters. My favorite was the “Tin Man”. MGM also did a spectacular job on the costumes. The “Wizard Of Oz” reminds me of “Mr. Magic” from the “Spongebob Squarepants” episode “Hocus Pocus”. And the “Yellow Brick Road” reminds me of the “Brown Tile Road” from the same episode of “Spongebob Squarepants”.

At the end of the movie, Dorothy wakes up and it was all a dream. What I think happened next was Franklin Roosevelt set the nation with a brand New Deal that ended the Great Depression. Maybe that would make Dorothy happier.

I would not like to live on a farm because it’s smelly and there’s no technology whatsoever. Also farms in Kansas are where there most likely is going to be a twister and their only defense is an underground cellar.

On a scale of one to ten, I give “The Wizard of Oz” a score of 8. The effects were a little cheesy in my opinion.

This is wonderful. I especially like the fact that he includes his own vision of what happens next with history (of course he does) relating to the time period in which the story occurs.

In my opinion George deserves a very high grade for this. A or A+

Well done, George. I agree with your review, and I especially like the hat tip to Mr. Roosevelt. I also would not like to live on a farm, but I'm happy to visit. Being a machinery geek, I'd want to drive any piece of large machinery available. But then I'd like to go back home.

George, did you know that many farmers are now using satellite and infrared imagery to determine water and also weed population and the nutritional needs of crops. Technology is everywhere today. Even on farms. My daddy is now 90 and Mr. Roosevelt was president when he was a kid. He also thought Mr. Roosevelt was great.

I might like to drive a tractor. And I would want to see the pigs. But that's it.

Nice! I did not know farmers use technology. I still don't want to live on a farm.
